Identify what is actually stuck

• Open and close an in-game menu. If that fails too, the whole application may be frozen rather than only the boat.
• Move the camera and test a different input device if one is already connected. Disconnect duplicate controllers only after noting the current setup.
• Look for visible shoreline, dock, shallow water, or another object touching the hull. Do not keep accelerating toward the contact point.
• In multiplayer, ask whether the host and other players still see movement. A disagreement between screens points toward a session problem.
• Note whether the issue happens at one exact location or everywhere after loading.

Try reversible movement first

1. Release all movement input for several seconds so held keys or controller drift are not continually pushing the boat.
2. Apply a short reverse input, release it, then use a small turn away from the visible obstruction.
3. Alternate short turns rather than holding maximum input. The goal is to change the contact angle, not force the hull through terrain.

Separate local and multiplayer causes

For a multiplayer-only incident, have everyone exit the session normally, restart Steam, and confirm the same current How to Fish version. Let the host create a fresh session and test in open water before returning to the problem location. This is a diagnostic test, not a promise that hosting caused the issue.

If the boat works in a fresh session or solo play, record which host, player count, and location were involved in the failed session.
